Adler Insurance explains why you should use a Healthcare Insurance Agent in Prescott.

Adler Insurance explains why you should use a Healthcare Insurance Agent in Prescott.Health Insurance is very confusing.  There are constant changes, lots of choices, many different companies and plans.  Why not have an expert helping you along the way?    Adler Insurance explains some of the misconceptions about using a Healthcare Insurance Agent in Prescott:

  1. They are just a middle man:  while this statement may be true…it doesn’t mean they aren’t needed.  A healthcare insurance agent is a key part of the process and can walk you through all of the steps in acquiring a proper policy that fits your specific needs.
  2. You pay more for a Healthcare Insurance Agent:  This is not true.  The agent is paid by the insurance company.  The price to you is the same whether you use an agent or not.  You might as well get the professional advice!
  3. The Agent has the insurance companies’ best interest in mind, not mine:  Most healthcare insurance agents are independent.  It is in their best interest to make sure you have the best plan available so you continue to stay with them year after year.
  4. There is no benefit to using an Agent:  There is always a benefit in getting professional advice for free.
  5. It’s easier to buy health insurance online:  Maybe a true statement if you are buying a pair of shoes.  Health Insurance is very complicated with many different options to consider.  If you choose the wrong plan, you cannot just return it for a refund.

We hope you enjoyed some of the above clarification.  As you can see, there is no cost to you to receive the professional advice of a qualified Healthcare Insurance Agent.

Adler Insurance provides the necessary information for consumers on qualifying for Medicare in Prescott

Adler Insurance provides Prescott medical insurance consumers with the necessary information for qualifying for Medicare. You must meet certain requirements for Medicare eligibility.  Adler Insurance in Prescott provides the necessary information to see what qualifications you meet for Medicare.

Generally, Medicare is available for people age 65 or older, younger people with disabilities.  You are eligible for premium-free Part A if you are age 65 or older and you or your spouse worked and paid Medicare taxes for at least 10 years. You can get Part A at age 65 without having to pay premiums if:

  • You are receiving retirement benefits from Social Security or the Railroad Retirement Board.
  • You are eligible to receive Social Security or Railroad benefits but you have not yet filed for them.
  • You or your spouse had Medicare-covered government employment.
  • If you (or your spouse) did not pay Medicare taxes while you worked, and you are age 65 or older and a citizen or permanent resident of the United States, you may be able to buy Part A. If you are under age 65, you can get Part A without having to pay premiums if:
  • You have been entitled to Social Security or Railroad Retirement Board disability benefits for 24 months. (Note: If you have Lou Gehrig's disease, your Medicare benefits begin the first month you get disability benefits.) You are a kidney dialysis or kidney transplant patient.

While most people do not have to pay a premium for Part A, everyone must pay for Part B if they want it. This monthly premium is deducted from your Social Security, Railroad Retirement, or Civil Service Retirement check. If you do not get any of these payments, Medicare sends you a bill for your Part B premium every 3 months.

Navigating Medicare Healthcare

Healthcare insurance in prescott - Adler InsuranceIf you've paid into Social Security for 10 years, you qualify for Medicare Part A and Part B at age 65. The healthcare insurance coverage offered through Part A and Part B provides seniors with a safety net against costly illness or injury, however there are some gaps in Medicare coverage that could make signing up for a Medicare Advantage plan the best idea. Adler Insurance brings you these tips for navigating Medicare health plans.

Unlike Part A and Part B Medicare, Medicare Advantage plans are offered by private insurance companies, although the total coverage offered by these, plans can differ from insurer to insurer, all Medicare Advantage plans must provide, at a minimum, comparable coverage to what is offered by the government-run Part A and Part B.

What is covered?

Part A Covers
  • Hospitalization

Part B Covers
  • Lab services
  • X-rays
  • Mental health services
  • Other healthcare services

Medicare A and B fall short because they don't provide coverage for prescription medicine. In order to obtain insurance coverage for medicine, seniors can either sign up for a separate drug plan, known as Part D, or enroll in a Medicare Advantage plan that offers drug coverage.

Medicare Advantage plans are a better solution as it covers the gaps in coverage in the Part A and B plans.

Another advantage of Medicare Advantage plans is that they can include more coverage for vision and hearing loss. Part A only pays for vision loss that's associated with a medical emergency or traumatic injury requiring hospitalization and Part B doesn't pay for routine eye exams and only pays for eye glasses if they're required following cataract surgery. Seniors are likely to also pay more for hearing-related health care on traditional Medicare than they do on a Medicare Advantage plan.
