What you should know about Medicare Open Enrollment in Prescott - Adler Insurance

Medicare Open Enrollment season is confusing. There are almost too many things for one person to know on their own. That’s why Adler Insurance, a leading life insurance and Medicare Insurance broker in Prescott, is here to tell you what you can do this Open Enrollment season to make sure that you take advantage of all your options.
  • You can change plans - The whole idea of open enrollment is that you have an opportunity to change your plan if you'd like. This could be because the plans are going up in price, or maybe because your plan no longer covers what you need it too.
  • You can drop a plan even after the Open Enrollment period ends - How can you know if you like your plan if you don't even have a chance to try it? Between January 1st and February 14th, you can drop your plan if it isn’t meeting your needs.
  • Make sure that you look at all aspects of costs - Just looking at the premiums isn't enough. Look at the cost of copays, coinsurance, premiums, and deductibles as well, so you know truly how much you will be spending that year.
  • Check your medications - Each year, various medications are added and removed from various plans. Check and make sure that you are getting what you need on your plan so you don't have to pay out of pocket for it.
  • Make sure that you can keep your doctor - Doctors can sometimes be added or removed from the network. If your doctor is removed from on plan but not another, you might want to change plans, or face losing your doctor.
  • Many preventive services are free - yearly wellness visits, diabetes screenings, cancer screenings, etc. are often free for Medicare and Medicare Advantage users. Make sure you know what is free and take advantage of them.
  • Know your options - Like many things in life, being informed is one of your most powerful tools. Staying in the know with all the changes that might affect you can help you save money and time.
If all of this is too confusing, or if you don’t have the time of patience, we can help. Adler Insurance, a leading expert in Medicare Insurance in Prescott, would love to help you save money and get you the best value for your Medicare coverage. Adler Insurance in Prescott discusses the loss of Medicare Advantage Plans in Prescott

Seven Insurance Companies Under Obamacare Have Pulled Out of the Arizona Marketplace for Next Year, Leaving 13 of the State’s 15 Counties with the Prospect of Just One Provider in 2017.  Up to 2.1 million people will likely have to change plans for 2017 due to insurers leaving states' Affordable Care Act marketplaces, up from more than 1.2 million who had to find new insurers last year.
Federal officials “remain confident” that Arizona residents will have options and Adler Insurance in Prescott wants to discuss options for medicare advantage plans in Prescott.

Phoenix Health Plans have left Arizona and Adler Insurance provides information on how this affects Medicare Advantage Plans in PrescottPhoenix Health Plans is the latest in a string of insurers that have scaled back coverage in Arizona. Phoenix Health Plans joins Aetna, Health Choice, Humana, UnitedHealth, Blue Cross Blue Shield and Health Net, all of which have pulled out or pulled back from an ACA marketplace in Arizona where many were losing money.  These latest assessments show how leery insurers are of the costs and rules associated with selling on the ACA exchanges.

Stephen Briggs, a spokesman for Arizona’s Department of Insurance, said there is little the state can do to lure insurers back into the marketplace.  While the state may not have plans to bring insurers back into the marketplace, U.S. Department of Health and Human Service officials “remain confident that all Arizona residents will have access to coverage next year,” department spokeswoman Marjorie Connolly said in an emailed statement.

I’m healthy, why should I pay for health insurance? Adler Insurance in Prescott.

Prescott Health InsuranceWhy it might sound counter intuitive for a healthy person to keep a health insurance policy, Adler Insurance would like to share why healthcare is important even to healthy individuals.

It’s the law:

Probably the most logical reason to keep or acquire healthcare is that it's required for all Americans to obtain health insurance under the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare). Not having healthcare will result in a hefty penalty that will be determined by your taxable income.

You can’t predict the future.

In all honesty, you'll never know what is going to happen in the future. It is possible that you can get sick or even get a deadly disease. Without health insurance, the expenses would pile up very quickly. Some Americans have even died because they where unable to pay for the medical care they desperately needed.

If would be cost effective in the long run.

If you have health insurance you will be more likely to get regular checkups, in which would make it easier to spot potential health issues down the road. Prevention now could prevent a medical crisis in the future.

It’s considerably cheaper to purchase healthcare when you’re healthy

The healthier you are right now the cheaper your premiums will be. If you already have an illness, your coverage costs could go way up. That is why it could be important to keep health insurance when you are healthy because you might not be able to afford it when you have a major decease or illness.

At Adler Insurance, our experienced agents can help you with all your health insurance needs in Prescott AZ. We have an experienced staff evaluating our clients’ situations and can find heath insurance coverage that will meet your needs and stay within your budget. Medicare Advantage Plan, Adler Insurance of Prescott

Medicare health insurance in prescott arizonaAdler Insurance would like to share the benefits of the Medicare Advantage plan and why it may save you money. If you are still enrolled in the original Medicare plan, it may be costing you unnecessary out-of-pocket expenses. This is because the original Medicare plan had no cap on your annual out-of-pocket exposure.

If you do not have a Medicare Advantage plan (also known as Part C), it is a lower-cost alternative plan that also offers more benefits then the old Medicare plan. Most people over the age of 65 are eligible for the Medicare Advantage Plan, there is usually no medical questions asked when applying for coverage.

The nice thing about the Medicare Advantage plan is that it includes benefits provided by Part A and Part B, as well as a slew of additional benefits, like prescription drug coverage. A very important benefit of Part C, is that it is usually less expensive and offers predictable costs. Plan C includes a set co-payment and out-of-pocket maximums so there is no guess work. There are no surprise medical expenses.

Many Medicare Advantage Plans are what are Fee-for-Service Plans, which means that there is a co-payment charged for most services, including office visits, tests, treatments, and hospitalizations. A yearly limit to the amount you can be charged in co-payments for in-network medical services are normally covered under Medicare Parts A and B.

Medicare Advantage Plan Part C lets you go to any doctor that accepts your plan. Most Medicare Advantage Plans include a wide variety of services:

    X-Rays
    Laboratory Tests
    Therapies
    Care From Specialists
    Hospital Admissions
    Follow-Up Care

At Adler Insurance, we are experts when it comes to Medicare Advantage Plans in Prescott Valley, AZ. We have the most experienced agents evaluating our clients’ situations and can recommend insurance coverage that will meet your needs and stay within your budget. Contact us at 928-710-1455. Which Medicare Part D plan is ideal for you? Adler Insurance in Prescott

Perscription Drug Plans in prescott The Medicare Part D prescription drug plan can be very confusing due to its various parts covering different medications and varying in cost. Adler Insurance would like to explain what you should consider when choosing a Medicare Part D plan.

First of all if you're a recipient of Medicare coverage, you are eligible to receive Medicare Part D. The plan helps with the following: Cover the cost of prescription medications, can be offed as a stand alone plan or complement a Medicare Supplement Plan, and can be a complement to Part C.

All Part D plans have been approved by Medicare in Prescott. Each plan is different as well as the cost. This mean you must take into consideration the pros and cons of each plan.

Questions you should ask yourself:
How often do you take prescription drugs?
What are the types of drugs do you take?
Do you take brand name or generic drugs?
Would you prefer a yearly deductible or a cheaper monthly premium?

Not all Medicare Part D plans cost the same or offer the same coverage options. The costs of Medicare Prescription Drug Plans vary and come with different lists of drugs (formularies) that are covered under the plan. Most Plans divide the drugs up into at least four categories, with a different price for each category. Depending on the type of medical conditions you have, you will want to choose a plan with the most affordable prices for the drugs you take.

As mentioned previously, deciding which plans to choose from can be confusing, that is why Adler Insurance is more then happy to answer any questions you may have on Medicare Part D. We're experts when it comes to evaluating your insurance needs, and are here to help you. Contact us at 928-710-1455. Visit our website at: http://www.adlerlifehealth.com/
